HuffPost Chicago brings you another installment in our Assignment Desk series, and another chance to report on cool events happening around town.

Our last dispatch yielded a handful of terrific pieces. We heard about horror stories from the Chicago dating scene, looked in on a brooding and powerful exhibit at the Smart Museum, took a boozy pub crawl with the Chicago History Museum and even got a peek at a Valentine's party for pets.

Join the fray! Take a look at the events we've got listed below, and if you're interested in reporting on any of them, click the "Join Now" button at the bottom of the page to get started.

Finalists are Alex Bonner, Fernando Hernandez, Nicolette Kittinger, Maggie Ritchie, and Alexis Thomas; special guests include 2009 National Book Award finalist Bonnie Jo Campbell, John Patrick Hemingway, John Schultz, and Ben Evans.

Chicago Parkour Stego Jam

Parkour is the art of navigating any and all environments with just your body. The result is truly spectacular to watch. Chicago parkour artists get together on Sundays for what they call a "Stego Jam," which as far as we can tell is just a bunch of people getting together and doing parkour. Let us know. Photographers especially desired.

Carolina Chocolate Drops

These guys are no ordinary old-time string band. They'll bust out the jugs, kazoos, saws and bones (yes, bones) to put together a rollicking, foot-stomping, can't-help-but-dancing good time. They're touring to promote their new album, "Genuine Negro Jig" (no word if Harry Reid collaborated).

When: Sunday, Feb. 28th at 8pm
Where: Schuba's Tavern
