Rihanna Unleashes Her Inner Bad Gal Marie Antoinette For CR Fashion Book

Let them eat cake cake cake cake cake cake cake ...

Rihanna is the baddest Marie Antoinette we ever did see.

The singer and fashion icon appears on the cover of CR Fashion Book’s ninth issue channeling the infamous Queen of France in a way only she can.

In one of the photos, which were shot by the controversial Terry Richardson, a Dior-wearing Rih grabs her right breast, and in another, she’s casually smoking a cigar. Naturally, the magazine dubbed her “the queen of IDGAF,” on one of their Instagram captions.

According to the magazine’s website, the issue is dedicated entirely to Marie Antoinette, “one of history’s most controversial and misunderstood heroines.”

In that sense, drawing a parallel to the French royal and pop music’s bad gal makes complete sense.

“Rihanna is beloved while Marie Antoinette was not, but she shares with the Queen an unapologetic attitude that inspires and fascinates,” CR’s online director Ray Siegel wrote online. “She says what she wants, smokes what she wants, and wears what she wants, making her an icon of authenticity in an era of calculated, pre-baked fame.”

CR Issue 9 hits newsstands on Sept. 15.
