All The Times Sarah Jessica Parker Has Pointed Out She's Not Carrie Bradshaw

In a new interview with Sarah Jessica Parker, the actress is forced to break up with an old friend -- Carrie Bradshaw.

SJP, who is likened to Bradshaw in at least every other article written about her, told the Wall Street Journal that she and the fictional "Sex and the City" character are not that similar.

"People probably don’t realize that Carrie Bradshaw was radically different from who I was, who I continue to be," said Parker. "I think that sometimes because we look alike and live in the same city and haunt the same neighborhoods, that it was sort of like I was playing in the sandbox, when in truth it took real work every day to be her, to understand her, to not judge her."

It seems people don't understand the difference between fiction and reality. Especially since this isn't the first time SJP has denied that she's not the person she so famously played on TV for six seasons.

In 2006, she told Good Housekeeping:

"I understand why people identify me with her so much I was in their homes as Carrie for so long. But while I have great affection for her, I am not her."

In 2010, she told Marie Claire:

"I've never revealed as much or been so daring or made quite as many triumphant mistakes as Carrie. But I’m now bolder than I would have been had I never played this part."

In 2015, she told Buzzfeed:

"It’s funny, I think my son was recently taking a quiz online that asked this question, and I don’t think I got Carrie. I think in many ways I’m like Carrie because I would much prefer to be interviewing you, for instance ... I think there’s not a lot about Carrie that is actually similar to my life. Our choices have been so radically different. There are certain kinds of pillars that fundamentally are different. I like clothing, but I don’t have anywhere near a fevered relationship that she does."
