A new project created in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth is making the city of Bangkok a much more colorful place.
Launched in commemoration of the 2014 International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia on May 17, the School Rainbow project "promote[s} the drawing of rainbows, symbolizing diversity, around school gates and other settings where youth meet," according to organizers.
As part of the project, Thai students chalked enormous rainbows in schoolyards around Bangkok "with the aim of bringing awareness to the problem of bullying," Huey Nhan of UNAIDS told The Huffington Post in an email. The participating schools included Thammasat University, NIST International School, Mathayom Prachanivet School and Wat Nuannoradit School.
