Whether or not SEO is dead or if we all actually need it has been something debated for longer than I can remember. I was contemplating for so long about whether or not people would eventually stop hiring SEO experts and specialists to help improve people's and business' websites, ranking, and visibility. My conclusion is this: SEO is not only alive and thriving, but it will remain thriving in such a way that there will always be people that will hire someone to do their dirty work for them. Obviously I'm not referring to blackhat SEO, because I'm definitely not a fan. White Hat SEO is the right choice. The point is that everyone will never choose to do things one way. People like options, and busy people tend to like the option of hiring someone to do things for them. Especially, when there are experts in a field in which they're less familiar. Besides, some SEO experts are quite impressive and unique with their methods.

When it comes to things changing in the world of Search Engine Optimization, people ask me, what are some of the big changes now in 2016, as opposed to previous years. Well, nowadays many people like to simply go to a person that has a great MOZ PA (page authority) and a great Alexa ranking, and pay a little money (assuming that someone wouldn't do it for free) to get a do-follow backlink. This is of course as opposed to hiring an expert in the field of SEO. Although, it could be in addition to it. Many times the best path to success is when you do many different things in order to get the results that you want. Another thing that many people are tending to do now in 2016 is guest post for many different blogs/websites also with good page rankings, MOZ, Alexa, etc. The higher a PA is, the more someone or a business will want to have a backlink on their website directing back to their own.

One thing that hasn't changed, and if anything, has taken on a bigger role in SEO conversation is the importance of having great content regularly posted on your site. Your articles should always be interesting, useful, easy to read, unique, and all original content. You never want your articles to be too short or too long. Just like in The Three Bears children's story, you want it to be just right. As far as using internal backlinks, it's imperative to make sure that you never over-do them, even when they're going back to your own website. However, you should always make sure that the keywords that you link are completely relevant to the link. Google likes that, he told me.

Now, we all love free, juicy do-follow backlinks. But, we cannot always attain them without paying for them. One great tip I'll give all of those interested in great SEO is to never, and I mean never do blackhat SEO. As well, it's not only bad karma, and a high risk for long term failure, but if you get caught, your ranking that you work so hard for will turn to trash. Don't settle for short term light and long term darkness. The easy way is not always the best way or solution to what you hope to achieve. You might actually get the opposite effect, even if not now, then later. Be righteous and be pure in all of the aspects of your life. This includes your job, your social life, your partner or spouse, people you date, and yes, within your SEO marketing and strategies too!

Now as far as giving away free do-follow backlinks, be picky, and yes, be choosy to only do so when they're to a site that has a good PA/PR/Alexa. You never want to get a taste of bad link juice. Yuck! Nothing is as bad as seeing your Alexa get higher (higher is worse). One last thing that's important to remember is to charge people to have their backlinks on your site when you have a good PA on MOZ, and a great Alexa ranking. Nothing in life is free, so know your self worth, and get paid for all of your hard work, time, and effort that you put into all that you do. Whether you're a blogger, a business owner, an SEO expert/specialist, or anyone that has a website/directory, you are worth what you think you're worth. In other words, get paid for what you do. SEO is a job, and if you're providing a service, you need to get paid, so know your worth. SEO is far from dead, and so are all of the jobs of the hard working SEO experts.
