Police have arrested a Los Angeles mother whose two toddlers were found wandering the streets of the city.
Sidnicka Wilson, 32, was missing when a pair of good Samaritans discovered her 3-year-old and 2-year-old sons in front of a liquor store on Monday, NBC L.A. reports. A search for Wilson finally ended on Wednesday.
“When she saw her face on the news, she became more concerned and was afraid to come home,” LAPD Capt. Lillian Carranza told the network.
Police said that Wilson was in possession of crack cocaine and attempted to provide a fake name at the time of her arrest.
Authorities also searched Wilson's apartment, where they found "deplorable conditions, not fit for a child," according to KABC.
“Sadly enough, the way it was described was that the 3-year-old knew to go to the store, get a loaf of bread, bring it back home and make a sandwich for himself and his sibling," Carranza said, according to KTLA.
Family members told NBC L.A. that Wilson has eight children with different fathers. The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services now has custody of the two toddlers, the L.A. Times reports.
Wilson was booked on suspicion of child abuse.
