This Couple Redid Their Kitchen To Look Exactly Like 'The Simpsons'

It's d'oh-tally awesome.

Marcia Andreychuk and Joel Hamilton "aren't huge fans" of the show, but when they realized that their 1950s, bungalow-style kitchen looked similar to the Simpsons', they couldn't resist.

Andreychuk started her kitchen "retro-vation" with the Simpsons' famous corncob curtains. Then she added checkered marmoleum (an eco-friendly flooring material) to get a Simpsons-esque look. A few key pieces later, the resemblance is stunning:

To create a Simpson-y color scheme, Andreychuk covered her countertops and cabinets in colored contact paper. "It's an amazing material," she told HuffPost. "Contact paper is SO cheap!"

Then came corncob curtains from spoonflower.com, a site where you can upload your own images and print them on fabric.

Until she can splurge on vintage-style appliances, Andreychuk is using colored contact paper to turn the stove an olive green tone. "This is a risk-free project, because it's not like we're ripping the kitchen apart," she told CBC News. "We're taking what's already here, and we're adding color." How very cartoonish, indeed!

Great job, team. You deserve a donut!
