Every year, the National Association of Letter Carriers holds a food drive, with the goal of eliminating hunger in America. The one-day effort takes place on May 8, and is called Stamp Out Hunger.
This year, in support of the food drive, the Campbell Soup Company has offered to donate one can of soup to Feeding America for every new fan on the Stamp Out Hunger Facebook page.
Last year, the drive collected over 73.4 million pounds of non-perishable food. Mail carriers pick up the food from donors on their normal routes on the day of the drive.
