This 'Stranger Things' Cast News Will Have You Truffle-Shufflin' Until 2017

Does having one of "The Goonies" in the cast mean no one can die?!

We’ve been waiting for “Stranger Things” Season 2 pretty much since the day after Neflix released the first season.

Luckily, we’ve been given a few breadcrumbs ― Eggo waffle crumbs, if you will ― while we wait until the 2017 release.

In an exclusive with Entertainment Weekly, creators Ross and Matt Duffer revealed three new characters who will join the rest of the Hawkins crew.

The character are as follows:

Sean Astin (yes, THAT Sean Astin from “The Goonies” and “Lord of the Rings”) will play Bob Newby, “a kindhearted former nerd who went to high school with Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour) and now manages the local Hawkins RadioShack.”

Paul Reiser will play Dr. Owens, “a high-ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment, tasked with containing the events of last year.”

Linnea Berthelsen will be playing the part of Roman, “an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child. Although she does not live in Hawkins, she is mysteriously connected to the supernatural events at the lab ... ”

Based on how much films like “The Goonies” influenced the first season, the casting of Astin makes complete sense.

We can’t wait to see some photos from the set!
