#TalkToOtavianoCanuto n.6 – with Aleksandra Liaplina

OC

This is the sixth of a series of conversations with brilliant young professionals that I have met. I believe they are all great role models for other young fellows, who can learn from them as they briefly talk about their path and experiences along initial steps in their careers.

Aleksandra Liaplina is a Russian economist working at the World Bank Group since 2013 and is based in Washington, DC. She specializes in infrastructure investment and finance and has contributed to a number of World Bank publications addressing the economics of infrastructure as well as the role of regulation and policies in attracting private and institutional capital to infrastructure investments.

Here I ask her to talk about her path from Russia to the World Bank. I also ask her to summarize the takeaways from a recently launched book – Reaping Digital Dividends - Leveraging the Internet for Development in Europe and Central Asia – of which she’s a co-author.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. And I thank Adelia Azeredo for her great direction/editing job.
