On Wednesday, after Donald Trump claimed victory as the 45th president of the United States, Twitter took the opportunity to thank our 44th president, Barack Obama.
Using the hashtag #ThankObamaIn4Words, Twitter users delivered powerfully concise thank-you messages to our current commander in chief.
Some thanked Obama for his ethics and his policies, while others applauded his sense of humor. Some begged him not to leave the White House, posting poignant pictures of his time in office. Many people, however, said that four words simply weren’t enough to express their appreciation.
Below, a few of the most touching tweets of gratitude for our current POTUS, while he’s still in office.
