I have been thinking a lot lately about how lucky I am to be doing what I do. My blog article here on Huffington Post, "In Honor Of the Butterflies Among Us" was about that. After a very difficult session yesterday I felt so tired and so inspired. My faith in my work and my God is often what gets me through those times. My thoughts, feelings, rambling below.

Here, In this room,

Listening to your brokenness.

Feeling the loss that you have suffered.

Helping you hold the hurt.

Do you know how beautiful you are?

I see a little of what He sees in you

And I find the brilliance of it amazing.

Even overwhelming at times.

Your ability to survive the cruelty

Done to you is no mistake.

It is testament to His light inside of you.

It is that voice that said deep within,

“This cannot be right…there must be more”.

Hold on to that voice like a shipwrecked child

Clinging to the driftwood called hope.

Hold on until you feel the strength in you rise again

And begin kicking towards shore.
