Modern silhouettes and designs may be having a moment when it comes to spring's wedding dresses, but if the fall collections have proved anything, it's that vintage wedding-dress styles are coming back into fashion. Whether it's the glamour of the 1930s or the intricately embellished trends of the 1800s, designers are rethinking bridal fashion with influences from various eras. Below, a look at our favorite period interpretations from this season's runways.
Old Hollywood
Sweeping ball gowns channeled 1950s Grace Kelly glamour for a classic princess effect. This old-Hollywood look is more demure than the sheer, sexy gowns we've been seeing, but it's still very stylish. The overall effect was crafted by more than one designer, but Romona Keveza's "Legends" collection was based on Grace Kelly herself. The full ball gown and long lace sleeves pay homage to the princess's wedding dress for a classic and timeless silhouette.

Victorian
You can thank Downton Abbey for 19th-century Britain making its runway appearance in full skirts, bountiful lace, frilly tiers, textural appliqués, and high necklines. These Victorian influences create a delicate look that is sweetly feminine. Watters's A-line "Velma" dress in allover Brier lace, paired with a high-necked capelet, spells out that romantic Victorian-inspired feel.
Renaissance
Gilded embroidery, sumptuous motifs, and sculptured shapes took center stage on many wedding dresses, embodying Renaissance-era vibes with a modern twist. Sharp and edgy with a touch of glam, the result takes on a regal and opulent air. Gold motifs in Francesca Miranda's "Ariel" gown provide a gilded touch, paired with a scalloped neckline for an architectural shape that frames an intricate lace bodice.
Sixties Mod
The '60s came swinging back to modern day in the form of shifts and minis. Sweet and sassy, they're a perfect choice for the unconventional bride looking for a Mia Farrow feel, possibly as a dream reception dress. Viktor & Rolf's flower-beaded shift dress's mod silhouette and preppy collar is the perfect nod to the decade, screaming sophisticated flower power with its embellishments while showing off a bit of leg.
