The 'Nightly Show' Schools Piers Morgan On 'Lemonade'

The "Nightly Show" just shut Piers Morgan down, so you don't have to.

Beyonce's "Lemonade" has been all anyone can talk about since its debut on April 23, and that goes as no surprise. The album and its accompanying 1-hour concept film encompass some of the singer's most personal and political work to date. The album has been almost universally praised, but earlier this week, professional contrarian Piers Morgan took it upon himself to complain about the album, writing in The Daily Mail that he doesn't like Beyonce's new "political, race-fueled tone."

Well, "Nightly Show" writer and contributor Franchesca Ramsey was having none of this. In an installment of her segment #HashItOut on Wednesday night, she brilliantly shut down Morgan's white-mansplaining in under four minutes.

"As far as I'm concerned, Beyonce's music has always been political. 'Bills, Bills, Bills' was clearly about raising the minimum wage," Ramsey joked.

In response to a tweet Morgan posted asking if he was allowed to listen to "Lemonade" "given my white skin colour," Ramsey went in, saying:

You can absolutely enjoy 'Lemonade,' and you should. But you also need to realize that this album isn't about you... If 'Lemonade' was about you, Piers Morgan, it would have been called Metamucil. Look Piers, it's like if you tried to wear a pair of Apple Bottom jeans. Sure, you can get them on, but without a big booty they might not fit that well. Doesn't mean you can't wear them, but you're gonna have a hard time feeling comfortable because they weren't created for your comfort. So if you're cool with that, then go ahead and get into formation. And if you're not, then in the words of Beyonce, 'suck my balls.'
