Dwayne Johnson's face says it all.

Dwayne Johnson is a respected and accomplished film actor. But he will also always be The Rock, as evidenced in his latest Instagram post recapping his point of view of the now-famous mix-up at the 89th annual Academy Awards.

The “Moana” star on Tuesday shared a photo of himself in the audience, as he and other celebrities realized that the wrong movie was announced as the winner for the Oscar for best picture. The true winner was “Moonlight,” but the cast and creators of “La La Land” were already on stage.

Johnson’s Instagram photo shows clear confusion in the crowd: Salma Hayek looks nervous. Meryl Streep was wide-eyed. Matt Damon looked dumbfounded. But Johnson seemed to channel his former pro-wrestling self ― raised eyebrow, intense stare and all.

In fact, Johnson looked like he was about to go full-on “The Rock” during the confusing situation.

“You can literally see my wheels spinnin’ on whether or not I should hit the stage and take down an Oscars producer who I thought went rogue and was trying to sabotage our final moment of the night as La La Land was accepting for Best Picture,” Johnson wrote on Instagram.

He went on to explain the disbelief he felt as the notorious events unfolded, and expressed his “respect” for “La La Land” producer Jordan Horowitz for calling the “Moonlight” crew on stage.

If Horowitz hadn’t handled things so gracefully, Johnson joked, things in the audience may have turned quite messy.

“Thankfully, Jordan gave us the clarity we needed, because as much as I love and adore Meryl, I was willing to rumble over her to take down the producer going rogue,” Johnson said.

So if you had to ask, yes. From the picture below, we can definitely smell what The Rock was cooking.
