The Sceret to Having Great Relationships

I know there are things that we don't want to do but the bottom line is you've got to really run it like a business. You have to be a master at all aspects. When you're entrepreneur, you have to master all aspects of business.

So many of us struggle with relationships.

It doesn't matter whether you're straight, gay, or anything else.

I think I have the solution to all our problems. The first thing we have to realize is that we have to be emotionally available, even when we're not ready to be. We have to be ready for sex even when we're not in the mood. We have to visit the dreaded in-laws even if we hate going to see them.

And...the ultimate key to a successful relationship?

Run it like a corporation.

Hear me out now. You're the president of the relationship. Your partner is the vice president. What you do is take corporate minutes. During the meetings you have, you talk about the needs, wants, and desires you both have. Then you hire people to do all the jobs you don't want to do.

Imagine you're a woman and your man comes home. He's had a horrible day. He's bitching and complaining. You don't feel like hearing it either because you had a bad day too. You pull your assistant in and you tell them, "Hey do me a favor. Listen, I don't want to hear him complaining today. You mind listening to him for the next couple of hours until he calms down? I'm going to go to them gym."

What about when your man comes home wanting sex and you are just not feeling it?

This is where men are going to get excited. You have an assistant. Your assistant has sex with your man for a few hours, listens to them, talks to them, rubs their head, and puts them to sleep. You're not in the mood and can spend time having an 'attitude adjustment', his needs are met so there is no residual resentment. A win, win.

You don't want to go see the in-laws? Don't worry about it. You hire the company accountant to go see the in-laws, so the in-laws are invested spending time together.

Visiting in-laws is sometimes as boring as doing your taxes. That's where the company accountant comes in.

Say you have a crisis and things are going down. It's getting really bad and you don't what to do. You call the Project Manager. The PM knows exactly how to make everything right again and you're back on course.

You go to couples therapy and you're just not in the mood that day. No worries. You get your office manager. It's their job to make sure everything is running efficiently in the office. Run your relationship like a business and it has a better chance of succeeding.

I think I'm on to something here.

Imagine that. You don't want to deal with the kids? What do you do with kids usually? You hire a babysitter right? Think about that. When you want some alone time from the kids you hire a nanny or a babysitter. The nanny or the babysitter or the in-laws come and spend the weekend with the kids, so you can get a break. But what about the relationship?

People find it hard to take breaks in a relationship. So run it like a business and see what happens. After dinner nobody wants to do the dishes, what do you do?

You get the intern to come in. The two of you can go watch movies. The intern does anything you want because they want to be a member of the corporation. They'll even cuddle with your significant other for you.

I'm telling you, we've been doing it all wrong.

So we're taking a humorous look at relationships right now. But in reality, relationships are hard work. It's you and your partner figuring things out as you go. And the best way to do it, like any other good corporation, is to have an open line of communication at all times. With great communication, any relationship can thrive.

I know there are things that we don't want to do but the bottom line is you've got to really run it like a business. You have to be a master at all aspects. When you're entrepreneur, you have to master all aspects of business. Think of your relationship that way and you'll master your relationship.
