This 13-Year-Old Opera Singer Blew Simon Cowell Away On 'America's Got Talent'

"I have never heard anything like that in all the years I've been doing this show," Cowell said.
Simply incredible.

Prepare for 13-year-old Laura Bretan to blow you away.

The adorable eighth grader performed a jaw-dropping rendition of "Nessun Dorma" on the Tuesday premiere of "America's Got Talent" and earned Season 11's first Golden Buzzer. Perhaps even more impressive, she managed to get perpetually cranky Simon Cowell to actually say something -- Dare we say it? -- sweet.

Just before Bretan performs, the camera shows Cowell harshly criticizing a boy band and an acoustic singer. Shortly after, the nervous teen takes the stage, smiling and giggling her way through small talk with the judges, who offer helpful advice.

But as soon as Bretan opens her mouth, it's clear she's already a pro.

Bretan's performance shows off her absolutely incredible range, earning a standing ovation (and lots of tears) from the audience. The teen begins to cry after getting a standing O from the judges, who are in shock and awe over her performance.

"That just happened. I have never heard anything like that in all the years I've been doing this show. Seriously," Cowell said. "It was unbelievable. And what made it even better is the fact that at you are such a sweet person. So humble. Not even aware of how amazing you are. Thank you so much for coming on the show. That was really, really, really special."

And then... this happened!!

There's only one little suspicious part to this story that was left out. Bretan, who is Romanian, also recently performed the same song (in the same outfit) for "Romania's Got Talent." Head here to watch the performance that might've earned her the ticket to the American stage.

Tune into "America's Got Talent" Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
