One of the perks of social media is the ability to stay in contact with serendipitous connections. I met Jennifer Lewis in Las Vegas a few years back- and I recently had the pleasure of interviewing her about her adventurous lifestyle. Jen has traveled to over 51 countries and 6 continents, while developing her own personal travel brand, Bronze & Briny. She has accumulated over 60,000 followers on her social media sites and has traveled to some of the most unique destinations in the world. It is a true joy reading Jen's practical insight regarding the many places she's seen and experienced. Keep reading if you’re looking for some travel inspiration.

Starting at the beginning. Could you give us some insight to your background? Where did you grow up? What were you doing before Bronze & Briny?

I grew up in South Florida but moved around quite a bit living in California, Australia and most recently, Berlin. After graduating from USC and working as a marketing assistant, I decided to take an open ended trip to South America where I started taking photos and doing some freelance work.

You appear to be living everyone's dream life. HOW DO YOU DO IT? How and when did you decide to start your travel blog?

Well it all started from just saving up some money for South America and from there I've managed to base myself in different places and really explore each continent. I started blogging once I moved to Berlin and was traveling around Europe like a crazy person. My Instagram began growing rapidly so I knew I had to make something out of it.

What is the most challenging part of being a travel blogger? How do (or did) you face it?

I would say the hardest part is the criticism I receive from people. My lifestyle is just really weird or unknown to some people and they try to tear me down for it. It's gotten to me in the past, but whenever it does happen I just remind myself that I'm really happy with my life and where I'm at, and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

What does your day to day look like in this type of career?

It can get really hectic! As my blog has grown, I spend a lot of time in cafes writing and creating content. It's actually turned into quite the full-time job.

What is the best piece of career advice you have heard? Do you have any advice on creating opportunities?

Tunnel vision. Do not let anyone get in your way or stop you from pursuing your dreams. With that said, definitely make sure your dream is reasonable, and if it is, go for it!

What is your goal for yourself and Bronze & Briny in the future?

I don't really have a set plan as of yet. I'm just taking one day at a time and enjoying the ride.

What do you love most about your current career path?

The freedom!

Best travel advice for someone looking to see the world?

Travel to suit you. Whether that's traveling slowly, going solo, doing a quick weekend getaway, or going with a tour. Ultimately, you travel to have experiences and to learn more about the world around you, so do it your way. Also, don't travel for an Instagram photo, travel to create your own path.

Favorite travel destination? (Top 3 if you can't chose one)

So difficult!! I would say:

1. Menorca

2. Colombia

3. Sri Lanka

Favorite beach?

Es Trenc in Menorca. Or any beach in Menorca really.

Favorite language?

I love Spanish!

Favorite travel moment over the last year?

Probably being in the middle of nowhere in Iceland watching the northern lights dance across the night sky with two of my close friends.

Jen reminded me the importance of working hard towards your dreams, without forgetting to relish the moment and enjoy the ride. I look forward to seeing where she goes next! Follow @bronzeandbriny and check out the following link http://bronzeandbriny.com/ for more travel advice and adventures.
