Millions of social media followers, friendships with some of the biggest names on Youtube and Hollywood, a budding music career and he’s only 18 years old. But for Trevor Moran, his success didn’t happen over night, he’s been working it since he was a child.
Moran is a Youtube star with over 1.3 million subscribers who first caught the world’s attention with his Apple Store dance videos. You might even remember him as the kid who performed “Sexy And I Know It” on the X Factor in front of Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.
Since then, Trevor has become so much more than just a kid dancing around in Apple Stores. From Youtube to the music industry, this kid continues to do it all and always in the fiercest way possible.
“It feels like it was an overnight thing, but I remember every night at 11:11 I would wish to be a Youtube star... I just wanted to entertain people,” explains Moran to Hey Qween host Jonny McGovern.
During his interview on the Hey Qween set, Trevor tells the tale about how a few trips to the mall and a helpful post on Tumblr changed his life forever.

“I was at a mall in San Diego with a friend and I just wanted to dance... I loved the reactions form people in the Apple store,” says Trevor. “[The video] was getting 100 or 200 view and I was loving it. Even if I got 12 views, I’d be like ‘ooh, that’s two packed SUVs.’”
“Then it started getting bigger. They started getting thousands of views and then one day this b*tch put me on her Tumblr and all of the sudden I got 2 million views! That was the most amazing moment of my life.”
From there Trevor took his dance moves to the big stage for his audition on the second season of The X Factor. An experience that Trevor believes was manipulated by producers in an attempt to have a funny moment for the show.
“On X Factor there will be crazy people that are there to embarrass themselves and I think that’s what the producers wanted from me,” Trevor explains. “But I was not about to be a laughing stock, so I did my own little theatrical version (of Sexy And I Know It) and slayed.”
And slay he did, with a “yes” from each judge, Trevor would move on to the show’s “boot camp” where unfortunately he met his elimination.

But when one door close another one opens for Trevor. After a meetup at Vidcon that year Trevor became a part of the highly successful “Our2ndLife” collaboration channel on Youtube alongside other internet stars like Connor Franta and Ricky Dillon.
Now in 2017, Trevor continues his Youtube reign on his own channel and has delved fully into the world of music.
“I put out a song or two when I was in the group and they did pretty well, Charlie Puth actually produced my first EP,” Trevor reveals. “But now that I’m 18 and I’m growing up and creating this brand and it’s just like, you know, gender f*ck, I do’t give a f*ck pop star.”
With his most recent music video for the single “Get Me Through The Night” currently reaching over 1.5 million views, it would be no surprise to see Trevor succeed in his mission to be a huge pop star.

But whatever happens for Trevor Moran, it’s clear that he’ll just keep on dancing and living his dream to entertain people.
