Trump Once Pitched A Show Called 'Donald Trump Presents The Most Beautiful Women In The World'

No one wanted it in 1993 and no one wants it now.

Surprise, surprise: In 1993, Donald Trump pitched a TV show titled β€œDonald Trump Presents The Most Beautiful Women In The World.”

Because if it sounds like a good idea to Trump, it is a good idea... right?

On Tuesday, Slate published a 1993 letter Trump wrote to TV executive Roone Arledge in which the current GOP candidate pitched the show as 90-minute special. According to Trump’s letter, the show would consist of β€œa series of shorts and interviews with ten of the most beautiful women in the world.”

The letter is from the Roone Arledge papers at Columbia University’s library. Read part of the three paragraph letter below:

In any event, in conjunction with Pierre Cossette, I am going to do a one to one and a half hour special entitled β€œDonald Trump Presents the Most Beautiful Women in the World.” This show will consist of a series of shorts and interviews with ten of the most beautiful women in the world, including Lady Di (who I know and I think will speak to me), Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Michelle Pfeiffer, etc… This program will be done on a yearly basis and will get huge ratings. I will promote it heavilyβ€”along with everything else I do.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims β€” 1.6 billion members of an entire religion β€” from entering the U.S.
