About the Role: The WorldPost is looking for a China correspondent to cover international news and world events. The WorldPost is a partnership between The Huffington Post and the Berggruen Institute featuring news coverage, commentary and analysis from around the globe.

Requirements for Success:

  • A deep knowledge of China, its key players and communities.

  • Speak and read Chinese fluently.

  • Be able to balance both daily and enterprise projects. Be level-headed during even the most fast-moving, high-pressure news events.

  • Follow major developments within this vast and complex country. Be passionate about international affairs as well as politics, culture, economics and innovation.

  • Use social media platforms, videos, images, graphics and interactives as key tools while in the field. Have a demonstrated track-record of visual storytelling and an established social media presence.

  • Always, always, always strive to move a story forward. Understand how to create an engaging, shareable piece that gets to the core of who, what, when and why it matters. Spot details that make a story stand out. Know how to craft a click-worthy headline.

  • Obsess over new storytelling techniques. Experiment and innovate.

  • Use analytics tools to spot trends

  • Be ready to travel to cover breaking news and features. Work within our security protocols for safe, smart travel.

  • Be a team player and a joy to work with. Teamwork is core to who we are at HuffPost.
