A California WWII veteran shed tears of joy as he was reunited with “the love of his life.” Roger LeClair says his 12-year-old pet Chihuahua was taken from his yard on Nov. 9, leaving him heartbroken, FOX 11 reports.
The 93-year-old posted signs all over his neighborhood and even offered a reward for anyone who could find the tiny pup, who weighs just 1.5 pounds and who’s been with him since she was a very young pup.
Ten days since she was reportedly taken, LeClair received the phone call he’d been waiting for. Lola had been spotted by a woman who had seen the flyers asking for her return.
LeClair broke down in tears as he was handed back his beloved companion and thanked the good samaritan who helped bring the pup home.
“She’s the best woman I’ve ever known,” LeClair said of his pet.
Dogs really are man’s best friend, as the saying goes. Last year we wrote about an Illinois grandfather who was reunited with his pet dog, after a devastating tornado. And one adorable pup waited eagerly at the edge of the driveway for her owner’s return for a whole week straight.
