It's hard to find the right match. Especially, if you've explored the toxic world of online dating. There are endless options, and the grass, well, it's always greener, or at least it appears that way at first. It's kind of like that scene from the movie Forrest Gump, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." Well, in online dating, you definitely never know. What a challenging world it is out there for many singles in 2016.

Actually, it's been pretty much the same dating scene for quite some time. Year after year, profile after profile, and date after date, the same types of people that appear great at first, but then once you get a closer look, BAM! Nada mucho. Connections are hard to come by. Many people are looking for merely a few things. Others, well, they'd generally settle for normal, especially after going on pointless date, after date, after, well, you get the picture. Enough is enough! So what's my point you ask? Stop searching for the same things, and change your approach.

If you go on many first dates, hoping for one of them to be your last first date, then you can probably relate when I say that enough is enough! It's time to try a different strategy and approach. So how do you approach someone? Is there a list on how to approach a girl or guy? Obviously, yes! How about not going after the same types or how about asking a whole new set of questions. How about taking the time to recognize that maybe your perception of you not being so picky is actually just that... too picky.

Perhaps you've even taken picky to a whole other level. Maybe you haven't truly been as open to love or being loved as you've so diligently tried to be. Think about it. It is possible. You might be so overly concerned with coming across as nearly perfect, flawless, and portraying someone that has no flaws or imperfections. Could it possible that this whole time, what you've been portraying is merely a front, and a secret guard to your true self, true emotions, and who you actually are? Well if this sounds like you, it's time to wake up, and make a change for the better.

It's important to not only be true to yourself, but to realize that not being true to yourself and comfortable in your own skin emotionally (or physically) is keeping you from getting to where you hope to be in life. Be yourself, and embrace your imperfections. It's not always an easy thing to embrace yourself for all that you are inside and out. However, it's an essential strength to acquire in order to live your life to the fullest, and to have success in relationships.

Many times people need to remember one thing, and one thing only when having hopes to have a great and successful relationship. Many people would refer to this one thing as "keepin it real." Some people take keepin it real to some extreme extent and resemble an in your face, New York real attitude. But in the real world, it's imperative to keep it real in relationships. You can't expect to find the love that you want when you're not being yourself, and when you put on some sort of front.

Portraying yourself as nearly perfect might even have the opposite effect that you may hope to achieve. People fall in love with those that are real, genuine, and usually even a bit on the imperfect side. Since when did perfect become sexy. Well folks, it didn't, and it never will. Imperfect is attractive, and being genuine and true to who you really are is appealing to most. Try this method the next time you go out on a date, and who knows, maybe your next date will be your last first date.
