YouTubers Discuss Abusive Relationships In The Queer Female Community

"So many people don't realize that there are many ways someone can abuse someone."

A group of lesbian YouTubers recently came together to discuss different kinds of abuse and the way that abuse can manifest itself and play out in relationships among queer women.

Produced by vlogger Arielle Scarcella, the video takes a candid and sensitive approach to a difficult -- and oftentimes painful -- topic. Scarcella told The Huffington Post that she felt like the video was necessary because there seemed to be little discussion about abuse among the lesbian YouTube community.

"So many people don't realize that there are many ways someone can abuse someone," Scarcella continued. "I was abused emotionally, mentally and verbally by a few ex-girlfriends of mine and no one ever told me. I simply didn't know. Statistically speaking, women in lesbian relationship are most likely to suffer domestic violence, obesity and poverty."
