FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Zina Alhalak, a Known Syrian Actress Stars As Munia in Upcoming German Movie

A renowned Syrian Actress, Zina Alhallak has been selected to be the lead character in an upcoming German Movie titled ‘Bassma and Nabil.’ Directed by accomplished filmmakers Silvana Santamaria and Bilel Athimni, the movie promises to keep viewers at the edge of their seats. Already known as an incredibly talented actress, Zina put up a nuanced performance in this drama.

The movie is based on the repressive and brutal nature of the Syrian regime and features the story of a passionate Syrian woman “Munia,” played by Alhalak, who stood against the regime and demanded freedom. In the evolving story, Munia and her husband were both arrested when resisted and took a firm stand against the regime but the plot gets thicker when Munia discovers she is pregnant and flees her country for Tunisia to protect the child. In Tunisia, she faces several obstacles to gain legal residency and make a living to secure a better future for her daughter. This story speaks volume about a woman’s fighting spirit and resolve to survive. “Munia” is quite challenging and fast-paced; it takes a very special talent like Zina to interpret the role and pull off an outstanding delivery.

Zina is a Syrian film and stage actress, director and instructor. She has worked on several stage plays, television shows and films in the Arab world and internationally. She has a degree in stage acting and has worked in the Italian film industry. She has also taught acting in Tunisia where she had her first experience as a director on stage in the play “Domestic Battle” which was performed at the Teatro theater in 2014 (www.elteatro.net). In addition, Zina is a human rights activist and she has been honored and awarded at several events and festivals respectively.
