It's an old joke: "I only read books with pictures." In reality, the visual is the keeper of the attention span -- especially on your computer screen. That's why Pinterest has taken middle class America by storm, granting people noncommittal, endless window shopping for gorgeous homes, delicious meals, designer purses and even political fodder.
A social medium doesn't get far these days without a brand name sinking their teeth into it. In the old days, it took convincing to get corporations to test the social waters. Now? There's hardly a question. While rockstar clothing lines and magazines have found the major success in Pinterest land, politics has a little pocket of its own.
As the 2012 campaign season heats up, you can bet that more folks will be jumping on the Pinterest bandwagon to see how it can benefit their slice of the social media pie. There are a few folks on the Right that caught the fad early and will provide a good foundation for the politically minded to build from.
