Blog Action Day is an annual event held every October 15 that unites the world's bloggers in posting about the same issue on the same day with the aim of a global discussion and driving collective action. This year, we're talking about water and the global issues surrounding it from environmental concern to sustainability.

Right now, almost a billion people on the planet don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. That's one in eight of us. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.

In honor of Blog Action Day, we're celebrating the beautiful bodies of water that make up the North American Landscape - and our favorite places to sit back and enjoy the view. For ways to take action from sea to shining sea, check out Blog Action Day.

This family-friendly giant on the northern end of South Carolina's Isle of Palms takes the travel trope "something for everyone" to new heights. The 560-room complex inside a gated island community has two miles of beach spread across 1,600 acres. Wild Dunes is one of the top golf resorts in the Carolinas and one of the few with finishing holes on the ocean.
