The shortcake recipe is AMAZING. Used it several times, I sent it to my mother over mothers day and it's now become our regular Sunday dessert. Dad always has 2!

With all due respect... What a load of Phooey!

It's Midsummer, many summer fruits are being harvested and many more are ripening on the branch or the vine, but this author is able to highlight only a SINGLE bit of fruit in these summer BBQ desserts? Only some strawberries?

Seriously? That's ridiculous.

Where are the raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries? Where are the peaches, apricots, nectarines, plums, and all the cherries? Where are the damn figs? Where are the melons?

It's summertime. The living is easy. Fish are jumping, the cotton is high, and glorious fresh fruits are everywhere. And the best dessert one can come up for a summer BBQ is banana pudding? Or a chocolate bundt cake?

Phooey.

Agreed. My favorite dessert right now is grilled plums with vanilla creme fraiche and home made crumbled graham crackers. YUM.
