Every week on Food52, we announce a new Wildcard winner: a recipe that we've tested and loved. Today, a recipe for soft serve ice cream that you can make at home with only 4 ingredients.

You don't have to get in your car to enjoy a cold scoop of soft serve ice cream. Here's a recipe for strawberry soft serve that's made with just four ingredients that you're likely to have on hand this time of year. Simply blend strawberries, crème fraîche, milk, and maple syrup together and freeze in your ice cream maker.

The luscious ice cream that emerges is delicate and not too sweet -- think of it as a grown-up version of your favorite boardwalk treat. Eat it in a bowl if you're concerned with being neat, or for a more authentic soft serve experience, scoop it into a cone and succumb to a few drips down your hands as it melts. This ice cream tastes best immediately after it comes out of the ice cream maker, which is the perfect excuse to eat it quickly and serve yourself another scoop!
