It's not that we don't love a good old-fashioned American drinking story - believe us, we do - but something about tales of tying underage college freshmen to a keg of skunky beer doesn't seem to translate very well outside of the States (but at least the beer selection on the plane to wherever you're going has improved).

Thankfully, however, we've combed the globe seeking the most potent parables and present to you our favorites. Was the liquor really kerosene or did it just smell like it? Kazakhstan ferments what?
