McDonald's Has Curly Fries?

There's no denying McDonald's sets the gold standard when it comes to straight fried potato-ey goodness, but are they ready to seize the short and curly market as well?

Apparently so, but only in the Philippines. Already a seasonal staple over there, McDonald's Philippines (locally known as McDo) is bringing back its popular "Twister Fries" for a limited time (a short run of only three weeks), in order to increase the product's value.

McDo Twister Fries are available a la carte for P60 or $1.43 USD.

Would love to see if these ever make it to the United States -- that way we can use our new Ketchup Fanning techniques in public.

Sound off: do you wish McDonald's US would start selling Twister Fries?

Those curly fries are McDees clever new way to make even more money off of the poor suckers who purchase and eat their horrid food. It is quite obvious to the thinking mind that you can only stuff far less circular-shaped fries into a conventional paper-sleeve box than you can the usual straight fries into saidsame container. This is how Chick-fil-A rips off their customers with their waffle fries. The novelity shape makes small minds want to buy them and the FF chain make more $$$ off of the mathematically and geometrically challenged.

How dare they not serve curly fries in the U.S. Don't they know they are loosing a billion dollars a day by not doing this?

The burgers aren't great, but the fries are the best I've ever tasted.

And I'll bet they don't decay either, just like the old-fashioned straight ones you find under the back seat of your car, four years after your last trip through a McD's drive-through...

No, four years since I had to remove the rear seat (requiring nuts and bolts and a great deal of effort) to get under it. I found -- along with the iPod I was looking for -- several Mickey D's french fries courtesy of my messy kids. They still looked and even smelled like they'd come out of the fryer that day. Ever watch Morgan Spurlock's "Super-size Me"?

If I wanted curly fries, I'd go to Arby's.

Nope, not any more than Wendy's went out of business.

Why don't they try them here in America? I have always enjoyed curly fries.
02:22 PM on 08/07/2012
Sure, but they'd have to get on the sweet potato fries bandwagon too, since they are already behind there as well.
