Last week, Rush Limbaugh labeled any American soldier who supports an end to the war in Iraq as "phony." We challenged Limbaugh through an email campaign to invite VoteVets.org's Jon Soltz to his show and repeat these same insults to an Iraq war veteran's face. Over 10,000 people responded and emailed Rush -- but to our disappointment, he has refused to respond to our request.

It's time to put real pressure on Rush Limbaugh. His show is broadcast on Armed Forces Radio, and this time we are going to go straight to the lifeblood of Rush's show -- Congress. Congress has the power to remove Rush Limbaugh from Armed Forces Radio, and it won't be as easy for elected officials to ignore our call.

Tax dollars are used to fund Armed Forces Radio, and that money is not intended for radio show hosts to spout insults at our soldiers. These "phony soldiers" have simply exercised their right to free speech, as Rush Limbaugh does on a daily basis. Simply because a majority of our troops who return from Iraq disagree with Rush on Bush's failed war policy does not give him the right to dishonor their service.

Unlike Rush Limbaugh, members of Congress cannot casually brush off the concerns of citizens. Since Rush won't listen to us, we're going directly to Congress, who can prevent him from disrespecting and censoring the voices of our soldiers.

How have Republicans in Congress chosen to respond so far? Congressional Republicans have actually drafted a resolution supporting Rush Limbaugh, "commending [his] relentless efforts to build and maintain troop morale through worldwide radio broadcasts and personal visits to conflict regions."

That's outrageous. Rush Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" comment should not be commended -- it should be condemned. And it's time to tell Congress to act swiftly to hold Rush Limbaugh accountable.

Click here to hold Rush Limbaugh accountable for his offensive and outrageous comments -- tell your members of Congress to take Rush off Armed Forces Radio today!

Our armed forces have served us honorably in Iraq, and the least we can do is respectfully listen to what they have to say about their experiences and perspectives on the war. To question the sincerity of our "phony" troops is disgraceful and must end.

Thank you for speaking out.

First it is important for our media to "Be Fair Or Get Off The Air" because they are a vital part in our "checks and balances" system of government. A system I might add that has failed miserably in the last 7 years. It is extremely important that our military get a balanced view of the news, after all they are the ones dying and should at the very least know the truth about everything!

I am amazed and depressed that in an age where any and all information you could want or need is right at your fingertips so many people still don't know the truth about the GOP lies and the way they can take different measures on basically the same issue (a Bill to condemn MoveOn and a Bill to commend Rush), this is illogical and hypocritical, but that fact seems to escape them completely. They think it is perfectly natural and okay for people who never served in uniform or war to spread lies about those who did or are presently serving and then proclaim that they are the ones supporting the troops. Fail to provide proper equipment and troops thus causing more injuries and death and still proclaim that they are the ones supporting the troops and anyone who says different is supporting the terrorists. How can they possibly not see how messed up this is?

A few years ago I remember some of the leaders from other countries were asked their opinion of the Clinton impeachment and they said "It must be great for the U.S. to be doing so great that their biggest problem was that the President had an affair and lied about it!" God I miss those days. I'm 51 and came from an age where we had nuclear missiles aimed at our major cities, were we hid under our desks (as if a desk would protect us) when the alarms went off training for a possible nuclear attack from the Soviet Union, but none of our freedoms were taken away because of the threats we faced.

With Limbaugh it is a slash and burn strategy that his listeners love. What a sad comment on our society when someone like him has more pull than anyone with common sense. He would never be taken off Armed Services Radio, I am sure there are a lot of troops that love to hear him. I also think although he is a complete jerk he has a right to his free speech, also.

I am appalled by the fact that Limbaugh in all his mediocrisy is on Armed Forces Radio.

You know many like me don't take this man seriously. Afterall, he is just a fat drug addict who also happen to be a babbling idiot.

Take him off, PLEASE!!!

I don't mind congress taken it up, afterall, they did take up the MoveOn ad, even though it was non of their business.

We should not allow this right wing propagandists to brainwash his captive audience on Armed Forces Radio. Lots of people believe the fat ass's BS, and we should not be financing the demonization of Democrats and Liberals to our own soldiers. He should never have been allowed on there. Either remove the lying fat ass or give someone like Randi Rhodes equal time.

General Clark, I have high regard for what I view as your lifetime dedication to moral courage regarding military matters. However, I think in this instance censorship is more harmful than the insult.

Gen. Clark is not seeking to deny Limbaugh his First Amendment right to free speech. He has simply asked that Limbuagh be removed from Armed Forces Radio as a result of his insulting language. Gen. Clark has not sought to censor Limbaugh or to keep him from sharing his vile comments. All Gen. Clark has done is to ask that we, the taxpayers, not be forced to pay for Limbaugh's speech.

General Clark - yes, he should be removed from Armed Forces Radio, immediately and a terrorist investigation regarding his influences, funding and alliances should be started with all haste.

Limbaugh and his seething mass of maladroit followers are clear cut traitors and should be shown absolutely no mercy.

Limbaugh and those like him are a very destructive force in our country and go far beyond The First Amendment.

limbaugh supported the troops by dedicating many months of his show to repeating and spreading the lies that got them into this disastrous iraq occupation and making excuses for the inexcusable GOP chickenhawks and fools who still march lock step with bush to keep the Dems from getting a veto-proof majority.

Democrats will do nothing to Rush. They do a lot of talking "sometimes" , but when it comes to taking action they sign Bush & Cheney policies.
Republicans say that the democrats are to the "FAR LEFT" , but the republican party has moved to the extreme right and anything other then that, is to the left.

Limbaugh needs to removed from the airwaves on the grounds that he is cruel, foolish, and has the narcissistic idea that his thoughts are relevant. His abusive treatment of Michael J. Fox should have taken him out a couple of years ago. The display of indecent mimicry of the ravages of a terrible disease was the final nail in my own decision never to listen to him again. He must be filling a niche in the repu's need to vilify all things truthful.

Michael Medved on the Howard Kurtz show today, ridiculed Senator Reid for making a big todo about Rush Limbaugh labelling any American soldier who opposed the Iraq war a "phony". It was only a trivial comment made by a citizen he said. There was no response on Howard Kurtz to Medved's comment. (Typical for CNN's right wing slant)

What can we say about those in the Senate who condemned Moveon.org for placing an ad calling General Petraeus, General Betray Us? Were they also making much ado about nothing? Was this also a trivial comment made by citizens?
