Politician (Booker) Says 'I Love You' To Opponent (Trump)

But if a politician can profess to love a partisan opponent who taunts him with a derogatory tweet on social media, then surely I can up my game. I can continue my practice of loving, too. The thing is, Booker made it look so easy. And I know it's not.

Love. It was in the news this week. Really, I am surprised as you are.

I've been a writer, reporter, producer, and researcher for network and local TV stations for the past 34 years. So, I know mentioning "love" or even showing love on the news is a rare thing. So, here's what happened.

The news cycle is filled with Democratic National Convention stories. So, it wasn't unusual that New Jersey Senator Cory Booker would be interviewed the day after his energizing speech in Philadelphia. And it wasn't unusual for the journalists to bring up a controversy. Trump. Trump tweeted something about Booker -- possibly derogatory. Booker was asked for his response. To our surprise, a politician turned the other cheek and publicly said to the Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump "I love you."

Here's a clip of how it went down on CNN Check it out. It's less than a minute thirty.

I try to stay out of politics for several reasons. Mostly, because it lowers my vibration. Also, I have friends and family on both sides of the political aisle, so I don't want to alienate any one of them. I registered as an Independent in New York City decades ago. So I have allegiance to neither popular party. You could say I have an allegiance to my family, friends, and trying to do the right thing. For me, that means practicing putting love first.

I didn't always feel this way. But in 2006, I sort of entered the new age, which is really better described as old age because so much of the genre comes from ancient wisdom. I began receiving direct messages from Spirit about the necessity of love in our everyday lives here on earth. Spirit conveyed to me that we are all invited to bring heaven to earth through our hearts.

Two years ago this month, I took the messages from Spirit and published "Today's Top Story is a Four-Letter Word." ( L-O-V-E, I think you get it.) Today I am celebrating the anniversary of its creation. And I am also celebrating Cory Booker.

Booker embodied the essence of the 50+ Spiritual messages that divinely came to me. Booker said he loved someone who basically dissed him, tried to hurt his reputation. Look, I may not be a Democrat or a Republican. I may not even be a Cory Booker fan. But if a politician can profess to love a partisan opponent who taunts him with a derogatory tweet on social media, then surely I can up my game. I can continue my practice of loving, too. The thing is, Booker made it look so easy. And I know it's not.

There's more information about my book Today's Top Story is a Four-Letter Word on Amazon.

See you next week!
