Health Care Fight Distraction to Real Issues

Health care is the concern of politics and not the major concern of Americans and is being used as a distraction to those issues that most weigh on Americans. While President Obama delivered another rousing speech in favor of what his generalized plan for increasing health care coverage by increasing government involvement in medical care. The major concern of Americans today is jobs, home values, safety of their money, and the future of the US economy.

This health care issue is the concern of politics not the priority concern of the American people. Is it a concern yes, but not the main one! The concern of 26m Americans is employment! There are almost as many people out of work as they are without health coverage! What good is health care if I can't feed my family? This issue affects those with jobs and without! How do we grow our economy and protect our dollar if people can not work? How do we restore confidence in our economy if people can not spend money because they don't have income! Washington put your attention on what the American people want handled and today it is jobs!

Nearly 40% of all Americans who own a home today are concerned with the value of their homes where most of their net worth remains. Foreclosures are estimated to hit record levels never seen before with one in every 357 U.S. households with loans got a foreclosure filing in August alone. Foreclosures are affecting all of us not just those foreclosed on. The value of every homeowner is affected with every foreclosure, tax revenues are negatively impacted and confidence further deteriorates.

There are approximately 40 million elderly in this country that are concerned about the little bit of remaining money they have in the banks and whether it is safe and then trying to figure out how to survive on their savings while it earns .03% in banks they are no longer confident in.

Who is not concerned about the future condition of the economy and value of the US dollar? I assure you there are more concerned with these issues than they are with health care! The issue of health care is being forced on the American public to distract it from those things that are of the most concern to Americans. This focus on health care is like making a Christmas gift list while your house is burning down.

Jobs, the value of homes, the safety of our money, the trillions of dollars in debt this country is taking on, and the future of the American economy is of more concern to the Americans I talk to than health care! Is health coverage important? Absolutely. But when you are challenged it is critical that you take care of problems in the proper priority and make the main things the main thing. Ask the American public about what most concerns them today most and solve those problems first. Once you get people employed again, stop the dropping value of homes, get the banks lending the money we gave them and restore the economy then lets get everyone health insurance.

I agree that there are multiple issues attached here, however I disagree health care isn't going to help part of the economy now. We spend a huge chunk on medicare and things need to change because there is no way they are going to cut heavily into the military or social security, which is also a huge chunk of government spending. I can spend days talking about this subject. I am in no way an expert, I've just been studying a lot about various issues that are costing us a lot of money and keeping people from paying their dues. There are a lot of politics, BS and broken systems around here that need to be cleaned up one by one. However no one can pay their dues better than the corporations which find every way around paying the true amount of taxes they were meant to pay. No one jips the US people more than them. The ones that live the most comfortably often times want to keep it that way and in order to do that, some one has to get screwed. That is usually us.

I think there does need to be an overhaul, particularly how corporations are ran, the model of corporate America and their relationship with the government. That is probably the number one contributor to the decline of the US economy in my opinion. Start there and perhaps a lot of chain reactions can ignite out of it.

Part 2:

Irresponsibility for each our own interactions with the world condemns us to abrogate our freedoms to questionable 'others' - Who we then blame for having tricked, traduced, impoverished, sickened us - and sent us to war - That ultimate abuse of human-as-meat-means to greed and myriad of evil ends; tyranny ends...We each then acquiesce to being bad means to what at least unconconsciously we know can never be good ends.

And so life becomes a death-in-life shell game wherein everything becomes a distraction from the only real issue: Learning how to live and how to love each other - how to learn to 'see' our divine unity...How else could the rulers we've relinquished our freedom to have so eay a time abusing us as designated 'as they please' means to their insane ends?

Part one:

Means always condition ends. So long as individuals are perceived as mere 'hands', 'consumers', 'employees', 'revenue sources', etc., etc. ad nauseam, that is, in a bad way; a non-human and therefore non-divine way - nothing will ever change for the better...Everything, no matter how the most intelligent and well-meaning or most hateful and ambitious 'anyone' who abstractly attempts to change the social set up may be - responsibility always comes down to the individual...

Each of us hide behind institutions, blame institutions, parties, sects, gangs, mobs, nations, yet we pledge our fealty to one or many of these...But from within any insular group all others are perceived as wrong; sub-human - then we all become less human...we see one another as mere good or bad means to some end that's really just a reconstitution of whatever now exists...So long as individuals don't try to practice love and forebearance, tolerance and respect for the uniqueness and either obvious or obscure divine necessity of the other we'll merely contine wasting ourselves on self-fulfilled, applied prophecies which are mere rehashings of historical failure patterns.

Part II-
All this kinda just makes me sick really.... it's so disheartening to think that with all the wealth and all the technology and all the wisdom thats available to us, that this is the best we can do.... That's why I think there's a deliberate plan afoot to cripple this country.... call it a conspiracy, a cabal, whatever... But the effects are very real, this country is in DEEP trouble and those who got us here can't be called on to get us out....that ain't the name of their game...

Anyway, I'm going to go now and focus on creating a bright, happy , fulfilled, wealthy, and prosperous future for myself... I create my reality... not these jacka**es...

Thanks for letting me vent ;-)

PART 1 -
I always get in rant mode when i post comments here.... but whatev its free speech right??

So my view on all this is that in order for things to go so terribly wrong... as they are, it can't be coincidence. One must ask the age old Latin adage... cui bono...

These politicians and the mainstream media have people in such fear, wrapped in such a web of false information and predetermined trajectories of discussion and "debate"... They throw a bone and we all go chase it...

I genuinely believe that corrupted organizations and individuals are destroying this country, destroying its viability and the will of its people... There's Hundreds of Billions in bailouts that have gone partially unaccounted for... CEO's taking home windfall bonuses for acting as financial criminals, politicians getting kickbacks on payouts... Numerous political sex scandals occurring, closing schools, slashed education funding, millions of kids on mind altering psychiatric drugs, 36 million americans not knowing where their next meal is coming from... (unfortunately there's soooo much more)

How can all this just happen? These are all the effects of specific causes, certain people did all this...

Those guys and gals u see on tv everyday talking about solving problems are not in the business of solving problems, 1000+ pages of congressional and insurance company bureaucracy, this plan-that plan..... They're in the business of keeping themselves elected and rich- Not keeping you healthy...They're not even subject to the plan they're pitching!

I love this Article, Grant is correct. Fix Americans concerns and all other problems will fix themselves. I love Grant's remark that the Health Care issue is like "making a Christmas list while your house is burning down". Where will you put the tree and gifts? I am personally tired of the government putting bandages on my issues and sending me home with no cure for what is under the bandage. It is time for a new public pole with real solutions that can be put into place.

Great job Grant speaking on the real issues, I look forward to reading more articles from you....

Written like someone who has decent health care coverage, has never been without it, and has never had a claim denied.

So, employment is the main concern? But losing your insurance when you lose your job, and not having any coverage until at least 90 days after your get a new job is not a main concern?

"I'm not sure I agree with you a hundred percent on your police work, there, Lou."

What I don't understand and what I think Cardone brings up here is WHY is healthcare such an urgent priority for the politicians RIGHT NOW? Who/what's behind this? What's the small print? I don't trust it primarily because as a nation we are literally bleeding from unemployment and high taxes and a staggering deficit and yet THIS is the issue which must be addressed right now??

Obama supporters won't read this blog because the truth isn't acceptable for them.

I wanted a President who cared about ordinary Americans facing impossibly tough economic challenges and did something about it.

That's why I supported Hillary Clinton...not Obama.

I was recently laid off, but health reform is still more important. One of the primary reasons we have lost jobs in this country is the cost of health care. Every other industrialized nation provides health care for it's citizens. If the govt provides it, businesses don't have to. Which makes our businesses here less competitive.
With health care reform, businesses who will be more competitive in the world market will be able to hire more.

Well said. That is exactly why we need reform and single payer health care. When a company is using its resources to pay insurance costs that are multiplying yearly they cannot expand and hire.

Yes, but at what cost to the business and individuals?? Businesses not having to pay for healthcare for their employees, great... more and more taxes levied on businesses and individuals to pay for your neighbor's daughter's braces, not so great...

Health care is indeed an important aspect in today's economy. But i personally agree with the fact that more attention needs to be brought towards the issue of unemployment. If the amount of unemployment was reduced than Americans would have the money to start spending and the economy would start to strengthen. Not to mention at the moment most Americans citizen's number one concern is in relation to unemployment.
