"Authorities Seeks Assistance in Finding
Missing Elderly Person"

Los Angeles - Authorities request your help in locating an elderly missing person who may not remember where he lives.

Norman Mailer was last seen on June 21, 2005 at approximately 11:30 a.m., when he walked away from his community retirement facility located in the 1000 block of Highland Avenue, in the city of Los Angeles. Mr. Mailer is a male Caucasian, 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 190 lbs; he has white hair and blue eyes. Mr. Mailer was last seen wearing a terry-cloth bathrobe (open), slippers, a stained white t-shirt, and nothing else. His hair is uncombed. He may have trouble remembering names and dates, speaking or understanding speech. He may be in an anxious or aggressive state, having just realized the year is 2005 and his favorite show, Barnaby Jones, is no longer televised. He may use phrases like "fluvial funereal obsequies." Approach with caution. And gloves.
