What White Supremacists Are Saying Today About Holocaust Museum Gunman

To find out the answer to that question, I visited, for the first time (trust me) the site of Stormfront, the major white nationalist/white supremacist --some say, neo-Nazi -- hate site. You can do the same, if you wish. It may take awhile, as traffic overload is an issue today, for obvious reasons.

Actually, it is disconcerting to see that the site gets plenty of traffic every day, judging from the number of threads and posts and the purported number of new registrants last month (over 10,000).

One problem today reading the reactions there: The main thread drew dozens of responses but was shut down and is now locked. Another thread is active as I write this, perhaps because it is buried and follows on years-old tributes to the alleged killer, James W. Von Brunn.

The postings in that thread so far are mainly critical of his actions, in terms of hurting the cause. Some are neutral. One explains why the earlier thread was taken down--because they were TOO supportive of the shooting.. Someone posted some artwork by the killer.

UPDATE: A separate thread has now been kicked off with: "James W. Von Brunn victim of Jewish extremism." Another member posted this: "Our entire race is a victim of jewish extremism, hate and genocidal policies. Examples of this are many and can be easily found throughout this site. The jews are anything but the victim's that they claim to be. They are the ultimate destroyers." A third: "von Brunn was trying to send a powerful and courageous message." And one more: "Heroes refuse to go out with a whimper. An example to all of us." A couple of other toxic threads have also now appeared.

I'm sick of posts telling everyone to tolerate and listen to these people. Should we listen to Muslim extremists? Mexican drug gangs? Black american gangs? No? Just white gangs right? I haven't heard or seen anyone saying we should tolerateand listen to these guys. We do hear about Muslim extremists everytime Osam or one of his top people put out a video or tape. A lot of what these people want is publicity and to bring there cause out of the dark. They target anyone who opposes there views. Everyone in America has the right to free speech but when they take action then they must be stepped on, but it is a fine line in waiting while they talk and taking action against them.

I really don't see how white supremicist groups are protected by the first admendment any more than someone yelling "fire" in a crowded theater. Both pose a threat to others. The First Amendment was meant to protect political speech, not hate speech directed at others on the basis of their race, gender or sexual orientation. I, for one, am sick to death of the American mentality that allows and even, in some quarters, encourages such vileness toward others. When will we ever grow up in this country?

You post is on point. Remember many in law enforcement have close ties to some of these groups and there is a very thin line that separates them.

Exhibit #1 is the annual retreat of law enforcement types that visit TN. Inform yourself and be amazed at some of the activities that take place there. The extremist groups are populated by our neighbors and we can't deny them their God given rights just to protect those who don't look like us.

Actually the hate groups popularity has increased and decreased over the history of our country. The KKK was huge in the early part of the 20th century but through changing mores and government action they are now a small fringe group. Remember that Senator Robert Byrd was the Exalted Cyclops of the KKK in the 1940's so I think it shows how far the white supremacist groups have fallen from their peak.

They, like other hate groups prosper when times are bad and people want someone to blame for their troubles. Extreme groups have formed in all racial groups such as Al Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood, KKK, Aryan Nation, Black Panthers and Black Panthers. The groups have very small numbers and with vigilance of good citizens they will not prosper.

What's strange is that anti-Muslim sentiment is still a problem here in the US, and the killing of innocent (Muslim) civilians abroad doesn't seem to bother people....why not?
