Maybe they should change the name of the show to Mourning Joe. While Joe the Fumbler has tried to jump on the Obama bandwagon, my search of the MSNBC site discovers a particularly acid attack on Obama by Scarborough from December 22, 2006.
Say it ain't so, Joe! Here is one highlight.
SCARBOROUGH: "Even before the final votes were tallied in the 2006 elections, politicians started lining up for the 2008 presidential sweepstakes. Without further ado, let me kill Hamlet in the first act and tell you how your favorite candidate will fare over the next 12 months.
"Barack Obama: Forget the fact this guy's middle name is 'Hussein.' Forget the fact he has been in national politics for less than two years. Forget the fact that Hillary Clinton will raise more money than God in 2007. Forget all of that, the Washington press tells us, because Barack Obama is none other than the second coming of JFK.
"Yeah, right. Barack Hussein Obama is more Johnny Bravo than John Kennedy. The vest fits and the fans scream while DC's star-maker machinery shifts into overdrive."
"Like Peter Brady's Bravo, Obama's shot at the top will be short lived. But since BHO is young enough, dynamic enough and (just) black enough to whip official Washington into a frenzy, expect this stupid story to stick around for a while. Soon enough though, this year's model will be shouting, "Please give a warm Chicago welcome to the next President of the United States, Hillary Clinton!'"
Then he went on to his Hillary assessment:
Cheering for New York's junior senator excites Democratic activists about as much as rooting for General Electric. Regardless of their hand wringing, Hillary Inc. will grind up and spit out any Democratic challenger that gets in its way. Ms. Clinton has completed six ruthlessly efficient years in the U.S. Senate and avoided even a whiff of scandal since Bubba moved to a separate zip code. But that doesn't mean the problematic ex-president won't be her campaign's chief asset. Time and again throughout the next few years, Bill Clinton will make the difference on fundraising, networking and strategy. And 2007 will show that any politico who dares to cross Team Clinton risks being crushed into dust.Crushed into dust? Uh, not quite. * Greg Mitchell is editor of Editor & Publisher and its hot new blog. He is completing a book on the campaign to be published in January. Yeah Joe should be traded for Shep Smith.....
I had to cut Joe out of my morning routine after he became so negative about President-elect Obama. I think he made a lot of people sick, and besides, I'd rather not be depressed before I get to work. Joe will definitely cause MSNBC some morning ratings points.
The day after this historical election this guy was whining that MSM didn't state that the election in 2004 was just as historical.......Could he have waited more than a day before the complaints came? Get rid of him and the women who agrees with him most of the time. Beyond annoying..........
I can't stand Joe Scarborough; he's not only dumb as dirt he never shuts up - talks right over the staff, guests, telephone guests, everyone with his inane drivel. I'll never understand why it's Joe's show and Chuck Todd is twice as smart, better looking and would be a much better host. Please, MSNBC - give Joe the boot and put Chuck in. Your ratings will soar!
I have to agree that Joe's an arrogant ass, turning every conversation into his minor league congressional stint. It's time that he left. I watched him during the campaign, only because Fox is filled with idiots and CNN is inconsistent. I like Mika. I hope that MSNBC cans Joe. He belongs on Fox. He's on the wrong team.
No Joe.
JOE IS AN A** AND HE HAS NORESPECT FOR MIKA ON HIS SHOW SO I CAN'T THINK MUCH OF HIM AT ALL AND I HOPE HE GETS NO INTERVIEWS
KEVARI SNOWFLAKES
A lot of people underestimated Obama.
But I think, also, that people overestimated Hillary.
WHAT WAS HER CANDIDACY ABOUT ANYWAY?
I always got the impression she wanted to win the Presidency to prove to Bill that she was just as good------ if not better than him.
People forget that her husband HUMILIATED her with the Monica affair. As a result I think her psyche was damaged to the point where she felt she had to prove something.
In the end people sensed all of this and so when Barack Obama came along her path to the White House was doomed.
I watch Morning Joe every morning, but I'm phasing him out. His rant yesterday about Emmanuel's "stream of consciousness" discussion about accepting the Chief of Staff position just sent me over the edge. I am so sick of Joe Scarborough's know-it-all, rude attitudes.
I love the show's guests, but the hosts are unbalanced and Scarborough, too often, is just plain distasteful.
It has amazed me throughout this year that it takes less than a minute of searching the internet to learn that the name Hussein is the equivalent of Tony or Joe.
My name is a Gaelic name and often confuses people. But I am your typical pale Irishman, and so would be allowed to be president with no questions asked.
I didn't know "Bitsko" was a Gaelic name...
T^he more likeables from faux should get MSNBC early morn time-- Shep Smith -very polite- doesn't belong on faux like Joe and Mika do
Scarborough also said the gops would win the election simply on the "General Betray-Us" ad MoveOn.org put out. How'd that work out, again?
I think Greg Brady's alter ego was Johnny Bravo not Peter's - Joe can't even get that right.
Does Joe ever utter a sentence in which he doesn't talk about himself? If so, I haven't seen it. I saw him last night on David Gregory's show where he was supposed to be talking about Obama's victory and instead spent his whole segment talking about his own campaigns for congress.
Joe is by far the worst pundit on MSNBC. The guy would be much more at home at Faux News. Is there anyway we can work out a trade? Joe for Shep Smith?
Joe and Mika have made me ( a lover of the Chris Matthews show , Keith and Rachels shows- )never watch morning joe ever again
Joe felt it was necessary to state that although this election had a lot of 'buzz', he said that 4 years ago, the country was equally excited about voting for GW... LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. AND, he said it with a straigt smug face. He is incredible!
78 days till Inauguration!
Joe, Sean, Pat, Bill, Rush are all so very angry they can't even see straight. But, as Barack stated...he is and will be their President too! Gotta love that man!
I saw that too about how the country was as excited to vote for GWB - ridiculous! I also love how he categorizes liberals as "close-minded" - seriously?
I've been noticing how Morning sickness Joe has been inching closer and closer to Hannity land the closer we got to this election.
His faux sunny demeanor is so transparent.
I loved it when Olbermann told him on air during the DNC "Jesus Joe, get a shovel". Priceless.
