Limbaugh Compares Wounded Veteran to Suicide Bomber

Rush Limbaugh, an expert at hate speech and half truths, is now comparing veterans who oppose him to suicide bombers. First, Rush called soldiers who oppose his view "phony soldiers" and now lies about it. Now he is comparing our combat wounded to suicide bombers. A soldier dared challenge Rush in an advertisement and Rush counters by comparing the soldier to the bomber. To quote Bob Dole: "Where were the VSO's?" Senator Dole was talking about the American Legion's and other veteran service organizations' failure to identify the problems at Walter Reed. But his quote serves just as well to ask why the American Legion and the rest are silent while Rush calls troops phonies and now compares them to suicide bombers.

The soldier, Brian McGough, said: "Rush, the shrapnel I took to my head was real. My traumatic brain injury was real. And, my belief that we are on the wrong course in Iraq is real. Until you have the guts to call me a "phony soldier" to my face, stop telling lies about my service." This was in response to Limbaugh's "phony soldier" comment.

Rush's response? Horrendously, Rush compared this soldier, Brian McGough, who was seriously wounded by shrapnel, to a suicide bomber and then insulted the intelligence of that soldier. Limbaugh actually said:

"He discusses his service in Iraq, the wounds he suffered there, and he says to me in this ad, "Until you have the guts to call me a 'phony soldier' to my face, stop telling lies about my service." You know, this is such a blatant use of a valiant combat veteran, lying to him about what I said, then strapping those lies to his belt, sending him out via the media in a TV ad to walk into as many people as he can walk into."

Rush made a career of insulting military service from Max Cleland to Jack Murtha to Brian McGough. Limbaugh reached the point where he thinks nothing of insulting any military person who opposes him. He went too far with his "phony soldier" remark and he went WAY over the top when he compared a combat wounded soldier to a suicide bomber. As I write this, I hear Rush demanding Senator Reid come on his show and defend Senator Reid's remarks concerning Rush on the Senate floor. Well Rush Limbaugh, let Brian McGough come on your show and other similar veterans and talk with them first. Implying someone is a suicide bomber is not funny or humorous. To compare a wounded veteran in a war with suicide bombers is simply cruel.

To the American Legion and the other veteran service organizations where are you and why are you not speaking out and condemning Rush? Could it be because Rush is a mouthpiece for the failed Bush Regime?

Rush Limpbag is a classic Chickenhawk who didn't serve in our military, but chooses to criticize those serving or those who have served. He avoided military service because is had a pilonidal cyst (an abscess in his butt crack). The real "phonies" are the the Rush Limpbags and other Rethugnikklans who deliberately avoided military service, yet have continued to beat the drums for wars.

I encourage folks to call Limpbag's show sponsors and tell them that Limpbag is a NOT a patriot, he never served in our military, and he shouldn't be criticizing those who have served or are currently serving.

Here's a man who's been caught abusing prescription drugs, has been investigated for money laundering, has been in rehab several times, and was booted by ESPN for racially insensitive on-air remarks. If one should wonder WHY he still here ... well, wonder no more ... It's because he's on Fox, the mouthpiece for this evil, sinister, heartless and corrupt Bush administration ... that's why!

Rush has never actually debated anyone so it"s no surprise that he"s hiding from Mr. McGough. Limbaugh"s a coward. He sits behind his microphone and belittles anyone who disagrees with him. His fans are sad, angry people who have little common sense and no real interest in learning about the real world.

Limbaugh"s a germ. He has been since the days when he played his little vacuum cleaner sound effect and encouraged callers to ask him to "abort" their calls on the air. As with many germs, his sickness is airborne. Radio waves have spread it far beyond the circle of influence he might have had in a saner world.

I can"t tell you how many people have contracted his disease but I"ve personally been threatened by three of his sycophants for comments I"ve made about him in the past. He encourages that sort of behavior. It"s a symptom of the disease to be angry when someone disagrees with Mr. Limbaugh"s "facts."

Don"t expect Rush to apologize to or to meet with Mr. McGough. It"s not going to happen. I just hope that some of the infected will be cured by this event.

Where's the punishment for being anything but inflammatory? If could only have done better if he'd said complaining soldiers were cowards.

The Service Organizations are worthless in fighting for veterans benefits. I know that for a fact. I worked for the VA for 31 years and I was a decision maker on Veterans Claims for Disability and was appalled at how compliant the Service Organizations were in reviewing rating decisions that they are required to do if a veteran designates them as their Power of Attorney for Veterans Issues, especially ones I felt were flawed and did not follow the law, USC Title 38. These decisions which greatly affected the lives of our brave Veterans were often made by new rating specialist who had never, ever worn a uniform. There was supposed to be a second signature review by an experienced rating specialist, but due to the overwhelming workload and the pressure by VA management to produce "numbers" that would look good to Congress these reviews were often cursory at best. After I retired, I did an FOIA request to the VA and found out the 52 Percent of rating specialist (people who make decisions on veterans disability claims) are non-veterans. Pathetic. GW Bush and his Administration hate the troops, they cost too much money. Americans, you will be paying for the Bush Iraq War for many, many years in disability benefits to these brave troops who are lucky enough to get a fair disability rating. I will not even mention the societal problems associated with the mental problems because of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

If it were 10 or 20, we could accept it, but a steady diet of hate for half of our kind is just unacceptable.

If the Armed forces radio can't find a balanced talk radio station for the soldiers, then give them music. But don't spend another dime of my tax dollars paying to have him spout hate of anyone that doesn't kow tow to Bush, most specifically soldiers!

The only problem I have with that is that there are many soldiers who are fans. How many, I have no idea, but I do know people in the military that listen to him. Shouldn't we ask them if they want to listen to Rush?

I am just amnazed... Limbaugh does not even mention Jesse MacBeth for one minute and 50 seconds AFTER he said - note the quote:
'phoney soldiers'...plural...

Then the craven hater edited his own tape before he broadcast it to the armed forces...but others have the original...he is lying, and several have accepted the lie.

For years and years, Rush Lumbaugh has disparaged democrats with his hatred, and its time that such hate for fellow Americans is not broadcast over our tax paid airwaves. He can keep his show, Clearchannel can keep him on air, but his mistreatment of other Americans, and soldiers is no longer acceptable on tax paid airwaves.

I feel it is not a god idea to remove "Lush" from the airwaves including AFRN. Our gallant service people enmired in "duMbya's" slaughterhouse need access to all the comedic and clownish radio material available.
AND while we are at it, How about AFRN adding that paragon of historical literacy to their schedule. Of course I am speaking of that defender of the Nazi murderers from the Malmedy massacre-Billsh_t O'Really, A stellar member of FIXED News' lineup.

Heh folks. You all sound like you need a catharsis, possibly an enema. Instead of wailing on, just go to Wesley Clark's web site and sign his petition to have Rush removed from Armed Forces Radio. The Dems run Congress and could make that happen right now without any Republican support.
