In response to my previous post, based on the linked report in TVNewser, CNN has now sent the following clarification about Larry King's release of the news of Tammy Faye Messner's death:
He didn't sit on the news for the day. They family told him a day after she passed. On Friday, the family asked him if he would make the announcement when she passed, but they didn't tell Larry she passed until Saturday evening. I didn't want you to think he sat on it, even though his statement on air to that point is not clear. He didn't say she passed away yesterday and they just told me. Instead he said she passed away yesterday and the family is making the official announcement now, making it sound like he knew and sat on the announcement for a day.
My thanks to CNN for resolving that issue.
