Most remarkable moment in Monday's first full explosion on the Imus controversy: Tucker Carlson repeatedly referring to Imus as an "old man". Ageism from the former spokesperson for the bow-tie?
Most cogent moment: amidst the welter of calls for "something good to come from this"--including Imus' pledge to "build something positive out of this"--that something has already been found. Alarmingly, MSNBC, a news channel, has announced that, during the two-week suspension, the morning time slot would be filled with, according to the New York Times, "news coverage". What could be more positive than that? Maybe that policy could even extend to the rest of the day.
(Full disclosure: Imus has never plugged my book)
