Honor Our Hemp-Raising Patriot Heroes

It is our patriotic duty to honor our Founding Heroes, America's greatest hemp growers.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison -- virtually all Revolutionary Americans who had access to land -- embraced hemp's critical role in our early economy.

Accordingly, they raised it in mass quantities.

We must now honor them by demanding its immediate legalization, to save our economy and our ecology.

For rope, for paper, for clothing, for food, for fuel, this miracle plant has been a critical crop for cash and survival for 6,000 years, since the onset of ancient China.

Today it is a multi-billion-dollar product there and in Germany and Canada, among other major economies.

There is no rational reason for hemp to be illegal. Some law enforcement "experts" say it resembles marijuana, and therefore must be banned.

What are they smoking? Certainly not hemp, which gives its imbibers little more than a splitting headache and a nasty cough.

Today, marijuana is the largest cash crop in many states and regions of the United States. A billion dollars-worth of it was purchased under medical auspices last year in California alone. Properly taxed, its users freed from our overcrowded prisons, pot's legalization could offer a giant step out of our financial morass.

But as an agricultural staple, marijuana pales alongside hemp. This miracle weed returns on its own year after year, requiring no pesticides, herbicides or special fertilizers. It is hardy, fast-growing and supremely productive.

A single hemp plant can provide the basis for very high-quality rope, sails for ships, cloth for clothing, paper for documents, seeds for food and oil, the cellulosic base for ethanol, and much more. It is the feed of choice for untold numbers of birds and land animals. It can be the basis for innumerable stressed eco-systems where it survives and thrives with virtually no human input.

As a staple spread across the Great Plains and through the rest of America's battered farmland, it could help restore our shattered crop base and our devastated rural economy.

Presidents Washington and Jefferson -- both of them extremely advanced agronomists -- cataloged their techniques for growing hemp at great length. They would simply not comprehend the concept -- let alone the reality -- that hemp might be illegal.

Early drafts of both the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were written on sturdy paper made of hemp.

Now, more than ever, we need the essence of both the documents and the crop.

Save Our Planet! Stimulate Our Economy!

Honor our Founders! Be a Patriot! Legalize Hemp Now!

-- Thomas Paine

What these hemp activists fail to tell everyone is that when Washington and Jefferson were growing hemp:
1) They had to use slave labor to make it a financially viable crop.
2) There were no better products to use, as there are now!
3) The whole scam was published in "High Times" - call pot medicinal, call hemp the plant that'll save the world no matter what the issue and we'll get all drugs legalized! Just start with marijuana to break down the resistance to legalization .....

Read "High Times" and you'll see how they target children for drugs!

The entire set of uses of the Cannabis plant need to be utilized to their highest good!

As medicine.
As fiber.
As food.
As fuel.

And as a recreation, right along with the beer that contains the related hops plant!

As the cash crop that will save the day!

Now, what's the hold up?

It's pretty easy: Legalize It!

Marijuana used to grow wild in Texas. My mom remembers when Nixon had federal forces spray paraquat all over the place to kill the plant. No telling what people got exposed to through that nasty chemical.

Doesn't the president (no matter who it is) sign a proclamation that hemp can be grown in this country during war time? We're at war, right?

Have there been any advances on hemp harvesting? Last I heard, the prototype models for harvesting in Canada and Australia still were not complete (I saw the one in Australia about ten years ago). If not, then hemp is not cost effective for any major production.

Love hemp, though - had a hemp shirt that lasted ten years under heavy abuse, a hemp purse that goes through all types of woman-handling and it's holding up strong. Just need to make sure some company that likes to alter everything doesn't get its hands on the good seed, eh?

Revitalize agriculture by growing hemp. Legalize marijuana, put an end to the costly drug war. It's a win win situation. There must be a good reason our government is not doing both of these things? Yes, it is greed from the corporations who pay their lobbyist to buy our government.

Fuel of the Future

When Henry Ford told a New York Times reporter that ethyl alcohol was "the fuel of the future" in 1925, he was expressing an opinion that was widely shared in the automotive industry. "The fuel of the future is going to come from fruit like that sumach out by the road, or from apples, weeds, sawdust -- almost anything," he said. "There is fuel in every bit of vegetable matter that can be fermented. There's enough alcohol in one year's yield of an acre of potatoes to drive the machinery necessary to cultivate the fields for a hundred years."

Ford recognized the utility of the hemp plant. He constructed a car of resin stiffened hemp fiber, and even ran the car on ethanol made from hemp. Ford knew that hemp could produce vast economic resources if widely cultivated.

If George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were alive today growing their hemp:

Airborne squads of jack-boot DEA thugs would descend on their land.

They would be thrown face first into their dirt, hand-cuffed and taken away for punishment and imprisonment.

Mt. Vernon and Monticello would be taken by the government from them by forfeiture.

Honor thy father and thy mother, Harvey, we need to get the women on board!

There is nothing about women in this article. :(

Maybe there is something historically written we have not found yet!
Woman please send us something historical about hemp and women.
Ok well there is plenty,
