President Bush arrived at the Summit of the Americas in Argentina today and was met by thousands of protestors. Well, not exactly met, since they were kept well away from the actual Summit location. And on Thursday, the ongoing ridiculous “Ask the White House” feature on the White House website had Tom Shannon, Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, answering asinine questions from seemingly adoring fans in Latin America and elsewhere regarding Mr. Bush's trip to Argentina.

Mr. Bush is probably kept blissfully unaware of the size of the protests against him and his policies wherever he goes, but is probably well aware of the transcripts of the propaganda, excuse me, Q&A sessions his administration officials hold with the “public”. A public that, despite all evidence to the contrary, seems to adore him and everything his administration stands for. To paraphrase the old joke, who is President Bush to believe: his lying eyes or Karl Rove?
