How do you honor the memory of a loved one you've lost? After the passing of her grandmother, then-6-year-old Alex McKelvey vowed to complete 60 acts of kindness by her grandmother's 60th birthday, March 22, 2014. Although people cope with loss differently, Alex chose to honor the memory of her grandmother by using the lessons of love, compassion and kindness that her grandmother had engrained in her heart.

A year later, Alex decided to challenge her execution of kindness and complete 600 good deeds by March 22, 2015. This precocious 8-year-old didn't stop there! By the same date in March 2016, Alex is promising the world 6,000 acts of kindness! Check out this video and watch Alex as she checks off another good deed from her list, collecting donations and helping the Lakewood, Washington, YMCA complete their renovation of the their youth center.
