While prayers and thoughts can't actively change anything and we can all work to do more for the victims of violence, prayers unite us and remind us of our dreams for peace and justice. No matter your faith background, please feel free to recite the following honoring those who were affected in Orlando and everywhere around the world by hate crimes.

May I remember those who suffered
because of hate, because of their
sexuality, and let me be reminded not to
judge others for their differences.

May I take this tragedy and help
others to be open minded and to be
willing to listen to the stories of those
who are silenced in society.

May I allow myself to feel sadness,
anger, and grief. Let me come to
peace with myself so that I can
continue to work for peace in this world.

In Peace,
Hope Schmid
