Arianna appeared on CNN's The Situation Room Monday, along with Gloria Borger, Joe Johns and Ben Stein. She discussed the Afghan War, huge Wall Street profits and media coverage of the Balloon Boy hoax.

Arianna was encouraged by top White House aide Rahm Emanuel's interview on Sunday, "I'm very glad to see that the administration is developing a strategy rather than just sending troops and escalating...Let's be clear, what exactly what we are fighting for."

Emanuel stated that the United States will not commit more troops to Afghanistan until it is clear that we have a "true partner" in Afghanistan.

Good Job Arianna! I am sick of everyone blaming each other, We have the Majority! It is more than enough time to reinstate Glas Stegall but , looks like the same behaviors that got us here are still taking place and the American people are being looted!
Obama will throw us some crummy healthcare while his buddies are making millions! We will be happy with the crumbs we get! SIGH!

Did I just hear Ben Stein say, Congress should pass a "maximum wage?" I nearly fell off my chair... I have never connected to his logic but I guess it's a new day! It could be Arianna's magnetism....

I think that Gloria Borger was the voice of reason here. It is very difficult to pass reform legislation in Washington that is totally opposed to the corporate lobby. It is more important that we keep a calm sense of who is on the right side of these issues and give them more than nine short months to change the entire climate in Washington. This is almost as harsh as asking for the V.P. to resign. I am tiring of Arianna's constant criticism. It undermines President Obama's public support which is important for future battles.

Let's look long term.

The problems here are many. First, we have the lobbying which impacts both aisles of Congress. Next we have the Party of no, no, no that will fight everything tooth and nail that the Democratic Party might try to do. It is a real shame that we have a large block of representatives that simply say no to be saying no.

Republicans should be leading the charge to reign in this behemoth that was mostly of their own creation. Instead, they will purposely try to make good bills bad just so that they fail and they can points fingers at the Democrats. All they are doing is further hurting the American people - but they don't care.

Borger is no match for Arianna. It is painful to watch her try so hard to argue for the status quo by making ridiculous excuses for why nothing has been done to reign in the banks. Americans can't afford any more excuses about why nothing ever seems to change---and we surely don't need paid pundits to make them.

And is the American corporate owned news media ever going to stop trying to fan the flames of fear and promoting endless war? Could they at least come up with a different approach for Iran than the one they used in the run-up to the Iraq war? (I guess they did go to the trouble of changing the old "Weapons of Mass Destruction" phrase to "nuclear capability.")

I think Arianna showed a new point of view of the Afghan war. Sending more US troops is not a good idea. That is exactly what the former Soviet Union did in the 80´s, and they failed. Strategy is the clue. I think we need to consider the possibility of negotiation with moderate talibans. Indeed, they have nowadays a strong support from small villages people. An there is only a small possibility to win a guerrilla war against talibans. British and Soviets had to withdraw after several years fighting...

When are we finally going to wake up and ban corporations from lobbying our elected representatives. This is nothing more than thinly veiled bribery. The Supreme Court got it wrong when they allowed corporations to be treated like an individual when it comes to this issue. The average American has no chance of getting legislation passed that is beneficial to the them. Corporate America has hijacked our political system and it's long overdue for us taking it back.

The Supreme Court actually never granted them personhood rights:

It's great to watch a couple people that clearly know what they're talking about: Arianna and Ben Stein.
