Arianna appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Wednesday to talk about her new book "Thrive," which focuses on how to live a stable, balanced life in the midst of a pressure-filled culture.

The book was inspired by her own experiences with a high-stress lifestyle. The wake-up call came in 2007, when she suffered a broken cheekbone and an eye injury -- the result of collapsing from
exhaustion. After years of around-the-clock work to build The Huffington Post, one of the fastest-growing media companies in the world, Arianna was forced to ask herself what she wanted success to look like in her life.

She decided to focus beyond traditional markers of success -- money and power -- to a "third metric," that includes our "health and well being ... our capacity to tap into our own wisdom, our own sense of wonder at the beauty of life that we so often miss, and our capacity to give, and be kind."

"I love this book," Ellen said. "I've given it to everyone I know."
