Arianna Huffington and Tim Armstrong appeared on CNBC's "Squawk Box" Monday morning to discuss economic chivalry, job creation, and current world events.

On the show, Arianna said, "I've been talking about the need to redefine capitalism, the way Adam Smith wrote about it. He was saying we need to have a moral foundation to capitalism... Also, Alfred Marshall talked about economic chivalry, about the need to give back, which is very much part of what America is about. America is the most charitable country."

Later on the show, Arianna discussed current challenges in Greece and the U.S., saying, "I don't want the American Dream to die... you have to admit it's dying for millions of people." She went on to say, "I'm all in favor of shared prosperity. I don't like the new normal, though. I don't like us accepting 15% unemployment... that's not something we should accept as the new normal."
