Still, nobody, including Arianna, defending Obama in terms of stated policies he's put forth over the months. The press basically picking upon on the ads and sound bites from the candidates and running with those rather than more in-depth questioning on their policy positions. And then they repeat ad nauseum, Obama is an unknown (gee why?) and McCain is a known (not really).

I like Kerry but he says stuff that makes me want to wring his neck sometimes. I'm not thrilled about the idea of him on the ticket. The cabinet? Sure. If you want a hardhitting campaigner, I'd love to see Biden spar against the GOP VP pick. Obama has so much stuff getting slung at him though, .its almost like he needs someone really VANILLA, like Bayh to dilute all this crap the GOP is feeding the uniformed masses.

Good exchange...my .02 on the Obama is Paris' BS....Obama graduated from Harvard. John McCain got a HS diploma and barely squeeked by naval school. Paris (we think) graduated HS. Who is closer to Paris in INTELLIGENCE?
Its brushed over with this elitist brush but bottom line....Harvard has ALWAYS been deemed the best school in the country. No amount of Affirmative Action (as people like to CLAIM Obama enjoyed) is going to get you THRU Harvard. Thats something that people need to realize. It may get your foot in the door but if your butt cant hang with the curriculum, you'll be OUT in a semester or two. Obama suceeded at Harvard. Graduated FROM Harvard and was the Editor of the Harvard Law Review. The man is SMART as hell. Paris and McCain(bless their heart) ...not so much.
Obama meets with Economic experts from both sides of the aisle. McCain hands out tire gages.
The choice is clear people...OBAMA '08

Yes, Kerry reminds people he lost.
But we have to get beyond the past and confront the tactics that defeated him.
Therefore there could be no better way or retribution than to have Kerry on the ticket.
He would be the most forceful counterweight to the irrelevant and trivial level to which the Republicans want to take to the debate since it is widely believe that his narrow loss was attributable to a smear campaign.
And yes he has the experience and more importantly a thorough understanding of all the nuances of the issues, unlike McCain.
He lost by only a few percentage points, back when the Iraq War and Bush were far more popular. His placement on the ticket would be a statement of confidence on the part of Obama.
If the Democrats are timid and poll sensitive and veer away from a dialogue on the issues they could lose. Picking Kerry is a guarantee that the real issues are front and center. And he has the gravitas that the Media and public respects.
He easily won all the debates with Bush in the polls among voters taken after them. The more visibilty he would have as VP candidate on the campaign trail the better for Obama. It would take the pressure off Obama to have such a hardhitting campaigner doing much of your work for you.
Add to this the huge advantage that, with his name recognition, he'ld get more press coverage than any other nominee could.
