Arianna is right in that we need to remember what got us here, Bush and Republicans knew very
well that they were allowing excesses of every type. They knew things would not pan out. I think that
they wanted to STEAL ALL THEY COULD RIGHT UP FRONT AND THEY WOULD COMPLETE THE
WEALTH TAKEOVER BY PULLING THE SAME SCAN BANKERS DID WHEN NAPOLEON AND WELLINGTON FOUGHT AT WATERLOO.
THEY TOLD THE PUBLIC THAT NAPOLEON WON AT WATERLOO!!!!!
The media gave false information to the public which caused a run a the Bristish markets. THE WEALTHY SOLD THEIR STOCKS AT A GREAT LOSS TO KEEP FROM GOING UNDER.
LATER, THE REAL NEWS CAME THAT WELLINGTON WON AT WATERLOO, IT WAS TOO LATE FOR MOST, THE STOCKS AND BONDS HAVE BEEN BOUGHT AT A FIRE SALE RATE BY THEN; AND THE
FEW FINANCIAL SCHEMERS WHO TOLD THAT LIE HAD BEEN MADE INTO INSTANT MULTIMILLIONAIRS AND HAD BROKEN THE ENGLISH ECONOMY.
i fear that certain on Wall St. are playing this game with the stocks. I fear they are deliberately keeping the market going down in order to buy up everything at rock bottom rates. Then suddenly they will create this great comeback and cause the biggest financial takeover in the history of the world.
THEY WILL HAVE TRILLIONS OF AMERICAN MONEY, STOCKS AND BONDS AND WE WILL BE
VIRTUALLY IN THE SAME FIX AS BRITAIN WAS.
Arianna and Stephanie rock.
Lars...nice hair...LOL!
Conservatives keeps talking about getting back to the "values" of the Republican party.
Huh?!?! We are living the values of the Republican party as we speak.
As Reagan did, so did G.W.Bush. Huge military expenditures paid for with borrowed money, and huge deficits.
Being fiscally responsible and massive military spending are not really compitable.
And so being a "Conservative" is actually not really possible in reality. As G.W.Bush and Reagan both proved.

Hello Courageous Arianna, whew- what planet do Nancy and Lars live on?
I am amazed by your capacity to be on a panel with Republican strategist Nancy Pfotenhauer and radio host Lars Larson. I wonder if they believe what they say or are just driven by blind ignorance,
They sure are a strange kettle of fish.
It is a joy to watch how you stay with your subject and message. We need you!
Life is a gift, a treasure, you are a jewel,
Ed
Republicans are following the "2 Santa" theory.
This article explains the two Santa Claus theory with supply-side economics.

This shows why the Republicans probably will never reduce the size of government like they claim to want.
Arianna, I love the way you slap down Nancy with her absolute nonsense. Stephanie Miller was great too with her usually funny perspective on things.
Rush and his followers (and the GOP in Congress) still do not seem to realize that their ideas of tax cuts for the rich, trickle-down and business deregulation have twice been presented to the voters -- and soundly rejected in both 2006 and 2008. You guys LOST.
So to somewhat agree on the need for stimulus but insist that the it be based on the above discredited ideas won't work. Republicans won't bury Reagan -- and still talk about the trickle-down effect of tax cuts for the rich. (At least they've largely dropped the deregulation mania that failed so utterly.)
Obama and the GOP are having two separate debates: Obama on HOW best for the government to rescue the economy and give a sense of direction to the country -- the GOP debating the "role of government" (e.g. DON'T rescue and guide the economy -- the free market will solve the problem). Rush and the GOP are delusional -- still disconnected from reality and living 1980's Reaganism.
As Stephanie Miller joked, Rush's listeners (and lots of other folks) are losing jobs, homes, and futures -- but some will listen to Rush as long as the electricity is still on.
Thank you Arianna, for keeping the truth at the forefront. The GOP mouthpieces would love for us to forget where our massive deficit came from in the first place. All the ranting about Pork Barrel Spending is completely hypocritical, considering billions of that spending was inserted by Republicans- who later voted against the Stimulus bill. Those earmarks should be automatically stricken, but of course they won't. My favorite Pork Barrel project ever, besides the infamous Bridge to Nowhere, is hundreds of thousands of dollars Ted Stevens got, to research baby food that could be made using Alaskan salmon. Brilliant.
I cant believe I commented on this post even before I got here. I said on your Mar 2 post......
Arianna,
When you use the word "enemies" for describing the people who you are opposed to, but are still citizens of the US you are doing the exact same thing as you accuse George of. You did that with Larry King and it undercut the importance of your words. I admire your cool in the face of blatant lies and misrepresentation as was going on but words are your strength. Dont let it become the rope around you .
Another thing about the Larry King discussion was the berating of the golf carts... but bemoaning the taxation of the wealthy. I think everyone forgets that golf is a rich man's game. More importantly .....so what? If an investment is made towards a game that will generate money, keep a section of our society happy and not in arms shedding blood...whats the problem here? Also, it goes towards a pursuit here at home without getting all "protectionist" about it. So whats the problem and why did you accept it? Why does everyone get all defensive about the everyday projects that are being funded? The ones that will stimulate the faltering economy? Dont give in even one single point if you believe it is the right thing being done. Not one single point. You are lucky to be there debating for all of us. Be firm, calm (you were) and feisty!
Great job, Arianna! Nancy P. - I was so looking forward to never seeing your face again - unfortunately, I guess I still am.
Yes, and Nicole Wallace and even the wretched Tucker Bounds have both come out of hiding recently on MSNBC I think it was.
What the Pf**k ?
The Rethuglicans pick out all the minutia, to distract, and create their displeasure within a vacuum as if the previous eight years had not existed.
Huge problems require huge solutions, is the first point. And with all the spending Obama is initiating, he is likewise calling for spending cuts throughout the budget in every place imaginable, including supposed untouchables like Defense, SSI, Medicare, and Medicaid, which is the second point. These Rethuglicans are absolute loonies !!!
I suggest this. For all card carrying Rethuglicans; If they can show donations to worthwhile programs (John Birch Society doesn't count), over and above anything they have given in any preceding year, to match what they would have to pay with a tax increase, they can have a bye.
If not, shut the hell up and pay your fair share. Nuff said !!
Nancy who?
My thought exactly. I have no idea who she is and no interest in Googling her.
