On Tuesday, Arianna appeared on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" to discuss The Huffington Post's new reporting series, "The Road Forward: Obama's Second-Term Challenges."

Arianna explained that the series, spearheaded by HuffPost's Editorial Director Howard Fineman, examines the question of "how daring is President Obama really going to be in his second term?" In addition, the series explores whether Obama is going to "be able to fulfill the promise of being a transformational president."

During the appearance, Arianna discussed the first piece of the series by Dave Jamieson and Arthur Delaney. She explained that the focus of the piece is Obama's "biggest vulnerability, which is the fate of the middle class. Which is the fact that on his watch, the middle class is worse off than it was when he first took the oath of office and that there is really no plan how to change that."

"When he talks about fiscal stability, he's focusing more on the deficit and less on job creation, on how are we going to strengthen the middle class, even though that was a pivotal issue of the campaign," said Arianna.

HuffPost's Sam Stein was also on the panel and discussed his upcoming piece for the series about the notion of "post-partisanship." Stein explained that during the 2008 campaign, "a lot of people flocked to Obama back then because he promised to sort of sand down politics' depressing edges, and it hasn't happened. And so the question is what does that mean for him in the second term, not who was responsible in the first term."
